Provisional Licence
Please bring your provisional licence with you on your first lesson.
Lesson Time
All lessons are of full 1-hour or 2-hour duration. Instructors may occasionally be late due to traffic or other reasons, but will provide the lesson for the full duration starting from their arrival. Learners are expected to be ready 5–10 minutes early as instructors may sometimes arrive ahead of schedule.
Cancelling or Changing a Lesson
To cancel or reschedule a lesson, learners must inform the instructor at least 24 hours in advance for a 1-hour lesson, and 48 hours for a 2-hour lesson. Failure to provide proper notice will result in a charge for the full lesson duration.
Lesson Day Non-Attendance
If a learner does not attend a scheduled lesson, they will still be charged in full. Instructors will wait 10–15 minutes at the pickup point, after which the lesson will be deemed cancelled.
Instructor Cancellations
Instructors reserve the right to cancel lessons due to illness, vehicle breakdown, extreme weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. Such cancellations will not be charged to the learner.
Payment
Payment must be made for each lesson. Further payment details will be provided by the instructor before your first booking.
Test Day Charges
The current test day charge is £120.00 (subject to change). This covers a 1-hour lesson before the test and car hire for the test.
Fitness to Drive
Learners must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Instructors can terminate a lesson immediately if impairment is suspected.
Medical Conditions
Learners must disclose any medical conditions or medications that may affect their ability to drive safely.
Eyesight
Learners must be able to read a standard number plate from 20–20.5 metres.
Vehicle Use
The instructor has the final decision on whether their car can be used for a test based on the learner's readiness.
Test Cancellation by DVSA
If the DVSA cancels a test, the instructor is generally not liable for lost fees but may assist in claiming compensation from the DVSA.
Booking Responsibility
Learners are responsible for checking test details and informing the instructor once the test is booked.
Vehicle Standards
Instructors provide a dual-controlled, roadworthy, taxed, and insured vehicle.
Professional Conduct
Instructors adhere to the DVSA Code of Practice, ensuring courteous and professional behavior.
Fines and Penalties
Learners are responsible for any fines or penalties incurred during the lesson.
Liability
Neither the driving school nor the instructor is liable for accidents caused by learner negligence or recklessness.
Complaints
Any issues should be raised directly with the instructor or the driving school.
